The World Human Rights Research Council (WHRRC) has appointed Dr. Sonia, a Swedish citizen and a distinguished women’s rights expert, as the International Joint Secretary. This appointment is considered a significant step not only in strengthening the organization’s global vision but also in advancing women’s rights, social justice, and human rights protection.

Dr. Sonia is a dynamic, inspiring, and visionary personality whose journey began in Punjab, India, and has now established her at an international level in Sweden. She is currently working in the HR Department of the Swedish Parliament and has also been serving as the Honorary NRI Coordinator for Europe for the Government of Punjab since 2019. Her extensive experience and global network make her a strong and influential voice in international human rights policies and women’s empowerment initiatives.

Her active role in human rights protection, women’s empowerment, the fight against social evils such as child marriage, and her engagement with global social issues make her highly suitable for this position. Under her leadership, WHRRC is expected to gain new direction at the international level in protecting women’s rights, promoting gender equality, ensuring justice for victims, and strengthening awareness campaigns.

Dr. Sonia has received numerous national and international awards for her outstanding contributions to human rights and women’s welfare. She has been honored with several prestigious recognitions, including the New York Assembly Human Rights Award 2019. Additionally, she has served as the former Director of Miss India Europe and has represented India and women’s rights on various international platforms.

Her contributions to education are equally remarkable. She holds a PhD in Micro-Commerce, Master’s degrees in Commerce and Arts, and a Salary Specialist degree from Sweden. She possesses deep knowledge of finance, economics, and global economic policies, which she effectively applies in addressing social and human rights issues.

Dr. Sonia is also actively involved in writing and publications. She has authored several important books and research articles on topics such as child marriage, women’s oppression, and social inequality, which have contributed significantly to awareness and policy development.
